About Us
You are on a journey.
We are on a journey.
Let's walk the road together.
Germonds Church in New City, NY was built in 1860 by a community of German immigrants. Throughout its history it has continued to reach out to care for its community, welcoming people from all different walks of life, seeking to be a home for love and justice and hope in the world.

Germonds is a PC-USA church that has a rich history of worship, service, and connection, where we continue to strive to make a difference in our neighborhood, and in the lives of our neighbors local and worldwide.

Meet Pastor Abbie
Rev. Abbie Huff has been at Germonds since 2017. Abbie hails from Philadelphia originally, though her family mostly resides in Texas. She was indoctrinated as a Cameron Crazie during her undergraduate at Duke. She has an MDiv. from Princeton Theological Seminary and spent some time developing a new worshiping community in Nyack, NY.
Abbie believes that worship services and particularly sermons are one of the ways we get to pause our busy lives and think about what is important and meaningful. We get to ask the deep questions and do some of the internal work to which God calls us.
In her spare time Abbie loves to visit Texas and Montana to spend time with family, or travel the world. Her 10 lb. miniature poodle, Marcus Aurelius, accompanies her on many of the domestic trips. Abbie is an avid reader, writer, adventurer, and extrovert.

You can read some of Abbie's reflections on faith and life by visiting her Germonds Church blog page HERE.

More About What We Believe
Find out more about what we believe as Presbyterians (PC-USA).

The PC-USA functions as a democracy, represented by regional bodies made up of local representatives. Our local body, or presbytery, is called Hudson River Presbytery.

Our regional body is called the Synod of the Northeast.

Our National body is called the General Assembly and meets every two years to discuss and vote on current issues relating to beliefs, practice, and governance.
